Children

Since our last entry back in March a lot of things have been going on in the lives of our kids.

Lukas continues to be having a good time here in the UK. During the last couple of months he has been on a weeks camp with his class in school. It was not ordinary camp, but quite an adventure, where they tried all kind of things like waking on a tightrope several meters up in the air, archery and lots of other things. Around Easter he had 2 weeks holiday, and so he travelled to Copenhagen on his own, to spend the holiday with Maria and Henrik's mother. It was the first time he tried to fly own his own, but he took it as an adventure, leaving his parents very proud.

When not travelling, a lot of his time is spent playing football. He now has a goal in our front garden, and if he is not up in the park playing, he usually can be found in the front garden, often together with Max, who lives just down the road. Together with Henrik Lukas went to Old Trafford (football stadium for the uninitiated) to watch the FA Youth Cup Final between Manchester United and Liverpool. The match went to extra time and penalties, with Liverpool finally winning.

For Maria the last couple of months has been focused on one thing, and one thing only: Exams! She is today almost halfway through her final IB Diploma exams and in 2 weeks she is coming over to spend a month with us, before she has to go back for her graduation. There is not much else to tell about Maria, she has been extremely focused and disciplined and has forsaken most other things, concentratiting on studying. She has had time to plan a trip to Spain in July, where she will meet up with her friends from Latvia. How the next 12 months will be spent Maria still has not decided, but very likely it will include some travelling.

Andreas has finished his first year at university and as I am writing is on his way to Seattle, where he will spend a couple of weeks with Katherine and her parents. Andreas has decided that Marketing Management is not really what he wants to study, and so he will will switch to Sound Technology and Digital Music next year. Katherine will also change her studies next school year and will be moving to the UK to study, something Andreas of course looks forward to. There is a chance she will end up in Manchester, something we of course would think would be really great.
