Another Visit

3 days after Katherine and Andreas left us the Ilsters family from Latvia arrived for a long weekend. We are still soldiers at Riga I, so Sarah thought it was time for a pastoral visit, or maybe it was just because we kept begging them to come and see us? Anyway it was just fantastic to spend 3 days with them all. Andreas had been so kind to leave his bug behind, so Henrik was not 100%, but that did not stop everyone else having a fantastic time! Friday was spent just chatting and hanging out at our place. Saturday we went to Stockport in the morning and in the afternoon to Salford Quays (that is prounounced like Keys – if someone can explain how that can be, please do!) and Sunday we drove of to York (1 ½ hours drive). That is a fantastic place. The town oozes of history and there was a really nice atmosphere. There was a Viking festival on, so there were people all over the place dressed as Vikings.

The Ilsters had to go back Monday morning – and when we say morning, we mean morning! The flight was at 6.05 from Liverpool, so we left Stockport at 3.45 in the morning. Strangely there was hardly any traffic. Well, that early trip was well worth having Sarah, Aivis and Josh here with us – what a blessing good friends are!
